Week 3 – Becoming Colombus

Week 3 is almost coming to an end. I can call this week a week of resistance. Resistance of the old blueprint to the changes within, because the old blueprint definitely is noticing these changes and it doesn’t know what to expect. At Wednesday the resistance was most noticable. In the weekend I had recieved feedback of my Certified Guide about something I wrote down in my Definite Major Purpose (a written description of my big Plan in life) and I wanted to adjust this DMP, but I just couldn’t start writing. I started doubting if what I had written in week 2 was correct and several questions popped up. Is this really what I want in life? What if this and what if that…… I just didn’t know. I also noticed I was postponing some other tasks and I felt a bit stressed. I knew I had to do something to get out of that circle I was in at that moment. So I went to the special website for the attendees of this course, to see if someone else was also having some difficulties with this too. And yes, I wasn’t the only one. Pff. Not only I wasn’t the only one, someone had responded to another persons question and there I found a very beautiful sentence. A response of Mark J. on an earlier e-mail of one of the attendees.

The discovery of the self lies in the Unknown, not in the Known.

Wow, how true this is. It wouldn’t be a journey of self-discovery if I would know all this already. This really hit me. So with other words; Let me embrace the fact that I don’t know at this moment that I have made the right choice about what I have written down. It is a good thing I don’t know right now. Huray for the doubt and questions. Let me become Colombus in my discovery to discover my true self. I am at open sea now with my ship to self-discovery. The wind will take me there. The one thing I know for sure, is that my ship is sea-worthy, so whatever happens on this journey – wind, rain, sunshine, storm – my ship can handle this. So let me enjoy this trip to the fullest while I am here. It’s so so beautiful to be on open sea. There is so much to see, so much to discover and so much to experience. Sometimes a bird passes by very quickly, sometimes there is a beautiful reflection of the sun in the sea, sometimes it’s just calm and total peace with dolphins and whales swimming along and sometimes it takes more work to stay on track, on stormy days. Hmm, contemplating on this way really makes me eager to continue. So I also want to thank you for being here too, as a fellow-participant, a friend who visits this blog of a visitor “by coincidence” reading this. Thank you very much! See you on next week blog.

With love,

Chantal

  1. congratulations committing to the process and the ultimate result…even if you don’t know how you might arrive there. Doubt and uncertainty are allowed to exist…they just are not allowed to win!
